How to turn off notifications
« on: July 07, 2013, 05:20:42 PM »
I have just gone to 1.15 from a much earlier version.  I now get 10's of notifications daily. Mostly they are CWOP data submission error stating that CWOP is disabled in weather cat preferences.  I have disabled CWOP on purpose.  How do I turn off these notifications with out affecting other mac notifications such as those stating I have received an email.

Are these coming from AppleScripts? (Re: How to turn off notifications)

I'm not sure, but these do sound like they are coming from my AppleScripts and not WeatherCat itself.  Are you running these AppleScripts?

If so, the easiest thing to do is to stop running WC Status Growler.  If you do find WC Status Growler useful but want to want to block some particular notification like the CWOP disabled error, you can do this at least in the older version of Growl by disabling the CWOP Problem notification in the Growl preference pane.  Go to the Growl Preference Pane and click on the Applications tab.  Scroll down until you find WC Status Growler.  Then click on configure this application.  That will bring up another set of controls and you'll have a list of notifications.  CWOP Problem should be the first notification you see.  You can uncheck the enabled checkbox and that would eliminate that notification.

Hope this helps,

Cheers, Edouard  [cheers1]

Edouard,
Yes I am running the status growler.  I was able to go into growl and turn off the CWOP notification.  Thanks
