Apple notified me today that WeatherCat and WeatherCatPad will be withdrawn from the Apple Store in 60 days. They are doing this because the 2 apps have not been updated in 3 years and do not meet the minimum sales threshold. If you purchased either app before it is withdrawn from the store, you will still be able to download the app after it is withdrawn. You will be able to use WeatherCat and WeatherCatPad until Apple makes an iOS or padOS update that makes them unusable. This is a rare occurrence, but still possible.
I am going to let this hospice happen for a number of reasons: (1) Both apps are written in Objective-C, Apple's original development language. I have spent the last 3 years learning and writing in Swift, Apple's new development language and don't plan to return to Objective-C. (2) The revenue from both sales is not enough to buy me the coffee required to keep me alert during the update process. (3) I am traveling on an extended vacation and do not have the tools I need to make any changes to existing apps.
I will continue to monitor the WeatherCat Forum and help iOS, padOS, and tvOS users whenever possible. Many thanks to all the WeatherCat and WeatherCatPad users for your support and loyalty.
