WeatherCat General Discussion / Re: Weathercat and Mac M3 with Tahoe O/S
« Last post by JohnS on July 29, 2026, 06:11:41 PM »
OK things have moved on a bit but still a problem. I've reinstalled the Silicon Labs driver (success message and access allowed in settings) and also Python 3 and its allied SSL certificate (success message again).
Weathercat 3 opens and seems to talk to the console in that it displays the same date/time/temperature and wind data but it can't load data from the Weatherlink data logger (this always used to work before the last Mac update). I've checked connections and also changed to a different usb mini to usb lead but no luck - just the spinning wheel on Weathercat saying waiting for data to be readied.
Any ideas what I might need to do?

QUICK UPDATE - I thought I needed to use system configuration to let Weathercat id the Silicon driver, but if I select Davis Vantage Vue in the staton comms box there is no option for the silicon drivers and no way to edit the box to show a path (not that I know what the path should be). Is this the problem?

Hi,
Please see the FAQ at https://trixology.com/frequently-asked-questions/, most likely issue is the SiliconLabs driver, relevant Q's are 3 and 5.

WeatherCat General Discussion / Weathercat and Mac M3 with Tahoe O/S
« Last post by JohnS on July 23, 2026, 01:08:46 PM »
I've been using Weathercat with my Davis Vantage Pro2 and USB data logger for many years, but since recent updates to Mac M3/Tahoe I can't connect to the console at all.

I've tried everything I can find on the web but nothing seems to work. The Mac doesn't accept me trying to download Python 3 or download the latest Silicon Labs driver (or I'm not good enough tech wise to make it happen) and I can't use Weathercat on my windows 11 laptop, so I think I may have to go down the Weatherlink.com cloud route in future (reluctantly as I like Weathercat).

One big problem will be accessing historical data - is there any (not highly technical) way of displaying this even if it is not in the same place as my future weather data on the cloud? I do have an iPad but I don't know if that would work either.

Thanks.

WeatherCat Web Templates / Custom Graph Font Size

Is there a way to increase the font size on the custom graphs?

I searched, but can't seem to find an answer.

WeatherCat Feature Requests / Re: Tags request

Hi Stu,

I got most of the temperature data I was looking for from the "Temperature (Average)" of the Year Over Year Statistics, could you add a "Precipitation (Average)" section?

Thank you for taking the time to read my request and adding the averages for months over all years tags to the feature request list.

Dave

I think the majority of what you're after is available in tabular form in the year over year statistics (available from the Tools menu->Statistics within WeatherCat or via the STYEAROVERYEAR$ web tag, see https://live.trixology.com/custom/ for an example) - this has averages for each month as well as the average overall for all years for each month.

For an individual month use in a tag you can use the time range specifiers to pull out each month - for example:
STAT$TEMPERATURE:AVERAGE:2026-06-01/2026-06-30$ gives the average temperature for June this year.

For more examples, again see https://live.trixology.com/custom/ (scroll down to the Individual Stats section).

What you can't currently do in a tag is pull out the high average or low average or the average for a month over all years - I'll add this to the feature request list, thanks for the suggestion  ThU32:-)
