Just a side note to this thread - I ran Tahoe for almost a year and just now updated my Mac to Golden Gate (MacOS 27) and WeatherCat works just fine.

I lost access to WC for months but some unknown update of something somehow restored my ability to open WC again.  I saw on WXForum.net in a post by schwab that weathercat 4.0 build 3528 is available to download.  I was under the impression that WC was not going to be updated ....  can anyone provide me with information?  WC is now performing flawlessly for me and I'm a little hesitant to change anything without more information .

You can stay with WeatherCat 3.x, especially if you don't need any of the enhancements associated with WeatherCat 4.  On the other hand WeatherCat allows you to have two weather stations connected to your computer.    You can find more information about it here:

The big excitiment is being able to run the Ecowitt station components as a secondary weather station.  The Ecowitt station components are much less expensive than comparable products, but perform surprisingly well as Stu as attested to:

For those of us worried about wildfires and particulate pollution adding an Ecowitt station allows us to do something which before was simply impossible with WeatherCat.  I've been running WeatherCat in the two station configuration for about 4 months now and WeatherCat has been very stable even if most of that time was under the ancient MacOS of Mojave.

Also, any insight if WC will be compatible with the new MacOS?

I don't know about the new MacOS, but I recently upgraded to Tahoe and as others have reported, WeatherCat is running just fine there.

Today is the 13th anniversary of my initiation into the WeatherCatters club. I want to thank Stu for sticking with this amazing software and feeding our backyard weather station addictions. Stu, your labor of love has brought a lot of enjoyment to the rest of us and we appreciate it. I am currently one of the beta testers for WeatherCat 4.0 and its companion app, WeatherKitten, and can tell you there are some huge improvements and fun additions on the way. Thanks also, to the helpful advice from many of you on the forum who have helped me out over the years.
