Dear Jean and WeatherCat fans,

is it possible to integrate this in a web page ?

Unfortunately, not at the moment.  However, I would expect it would be very easy for Stu to do.

You should be able to make a nicer display using HTML, but unfortunately, that brings you back to that learning curve.  If you haven't tried any tools, you might consider giving SeaMonkey:

http://www.seamonkey-project.org/

or perhaps Blue Griffon a try:

http://www.bluegriffon.org/

They both include a what you see is what you get HTML editor that might be more convenient for you.

How about uploading to Weather Underground? (Re: "pretty" daily.html ?)

Hi Jean and WeatherCat fans,

If you find the WeatherLink website format acceptable, have you looked into submitting your weather data to Weather Underground?

http://www.wunderground.com/

Weather Underground supports multiple languages and displays the data in different formats like metric.

Here is my weather station on Weather Underground:

http://www.wunderground.com/weatherstation/WXDailyHistory.asp?ID=KCAORIND10

If Weather Underground has designed their website correctly, you should get the information in French automatically.  If not, I see there is a preference to set the language.

Uploading to Weather Underground is free and their website is reasonably well designed.

With a little more work you can submit data to other upload services like:

There are even more places you can submit data to.  However, I would try Weather Underground first because it is the easiest and I think their website displays weather data with the least clutter.  It is relatively easy to do this.  There are instructions on setting up a Weather Station on the Weather Underground website.  Directions on configuring WeatherCat to upload data to Weather Underground can be found on page 72 of the WeatherCat manual.

Hope that is some help.

Cheers, Edouard  [cheers1]

You can use the STAT$ tag to get at various values over various time periods - for example STAT$TEMPERATURE:MAX:TODAY$ will return the maximum temperature today and STAT$TEMPERATURE:MAX:TODAY:TIME$ will return the time of the high temperature. Pop these into a table for a simple page.

jean frederic -

I think it's possible to use the "iFrame" codes to do this - for me, it's quite simple to add your Wunderground web page into my own home page.
like this (images show in attachment, hereunder):
for this, I used "iFrame generator" -
http://7thspace.com/webmaster_tools/iframe_generator.html
and, put in your Wunderground web page url, plus other design parameters.
it gave back this HTML coding:
Code: [Select]
<iframe src="http://www.wunderground.com/cgi-bin/findweather/getForecast?query=46.15261459,-1.33283246&sp=IPOITOUC29" style="border:2px #FFFFFF dotted;" name="myiFrame" scrolling="no" frameborder="1" marginheight="3px" marginwidth="3px" height="100%" width="100%"></iframe><iframe src="http://www.wunderground.com/cgi-bin/findweather/getForecast?query=46.15261459,-1.33283246&sp=IPOITOUC29" style="border:2px #FFFFFF dotted;" name="myiFrame" scrolling="no" frameborder="1" marginheight="3px" marginwidth="3px" height="100%" width="100%"></iframe>
---
and, then I went to Weathercat preferences > On-Line > Simple Web > Text ...
and insert code there...

the results are very satisfying, on my own home page - and I think quite easily put under own "Tab" such as link from left-hand side of home page...

I hope this will help, but I agree, not the best solution - much better if you can do it or I can do it from within Weathercat itself...  every day I am learning, and soon maybe I'll crack the code...

best greets from the heart of US, where it's finally springtime and birds are arriving!

Got to decide: custom or "off the rack" (Re: "pretty" daily.html ?)

Hi Jean Frederic and WeatherCat fans,

thanks for this help
but i need a satisfying home page

Unfortunately, a satisfying home page can only come in one of two ways: using what someone else has come up with, or making a custom page your yourself.

You already found Barzi's web template:

http://athena.trixology.com/index.php?topic=221.0

You might try sending Barzi a Private Message, but Barzi is an extremely busy man.  He won't be able to give you much help.

I don't think you'll find much else in the way for ready to install and run templates, especially in French.

You might try taking a look at my SeaMonkey templates:

http://www.canebas.org/LWC/misc/LWC%20SeaMonkey%20web%20template%20%280.5.0%29.zip

They are in English and contain references to the predecessor of WeatherCat, LWC.  However, you can open them in a Word Processor-like HTML editor: SeaMonkey that I mentioned earlier:

http://www.seamonkey-project.org/

So you could simply go through the text and translate it into French.

This is the basis of my current weather website:

http://www.canebas.org/Weather/

It is arguably simple, but it is clean and presentable.

Unfortunately creating a website isn't easy and is a kind of programming.  I sure wish it wasn't, but those who made the Internet what it is today had essentially zero interest in making it easy for the general public to contribute to it.  Sad but true.  :(

Cheers, Edouard  [cheers1]
