Just a quick note to introduce myself and my Weathercat web site.  I'm located in Tiburon, California, just across the Golden Gate from San Francisco.  Here's my site, adapted from an older template, which was modified to include radar, webcam, and my solar system output (in place of a solar radiation gauge ).  My weather station is a Davis Vantage Vue with WeatherlinkIP, and WeatherCat runs on a very old Mac Mini.  The station has been running since 10/2009, with only one minor issue (had to perform the battery waterproofing modification).

I'm in Orinda which is just on the other side of the Caldecott Tunnel from Berkeley/Oakland.

I know Orinda well -- I grew up very close to there.  Beautiful area!
And....thanks for the Seamonkey templates.  I spent some time working with them to get my site up and running.  I like the numerous ways a website can be generated from WC.  Very handy.  I used Weather Display on a PC several years ago, and while WC has less features at the moment, it is MUCH easier and more reliable to work with!  I was up and running in no time.  One feature I would love to have is to have the ability to import the past few years of my Wunderground data (or, better yet, the online Weatherlink archive).  I see it's on the requested features list.

Maybe one day I'll get motivated and try to write a new site from scratch!  I'd like to better integrate my weather station and solar system on it.  One of the issues is the lack of affordable WYSIWYG editors for the Mac -- Seamonkey isn't bad, but seems pretty buggy.  The really good editors are big $$$$.  We'll see...

Steve pointed me towards PageSpinner http://www.optima-system.com/pagespinner/ for producing my weather web site. It's easy to use even for a beginner, has a free trial period and if you buy a licence only costs about $30.

Glad you found them useful.  They were really intended a raw material for folks to customize.  I hope they will get a little more use for the folks who don't want to battle HTML.  Unfortunately, I've really busy these days with all sort of problems so I can do much with WeatherCat right now.  In particular I have one "dependent" that is taking a lot of my time until it finally gets back on the road!

There is a "fork" of the SeaMonkey web page editor called Blue Griffon.

It looks like it might be even more buggy than SeaMonkey, but it is a lot more powerful and still has one big advantage like SeaMonkey - still 100% free!

Something to consider when you have time.

Well, the latest word is that the car being worked on ahead of my trusty wagon is getting close to finally moving on.  So with any luck at all, the work will start in a 2 to 3 weeks.  I'll certainly post a discreet announcement here when - finally - the work begins!!
