Loosing data on updating
« on: December 23, 2012, 04:13:26 PM »
[rainyluck] I seem to loose my archive whenever I update my software. Is it possible to re-install my old data?

Hi

A lot of data is backed up on a daily basis, you should be able to go to tools/backup and restore from any of the previous seven days backups.

Dear Chimay and WeatherCat fans,

[rainyluck] I seem to loose my archive whenever I update my software. Is it possible to re-install my old data?

I'm not sure what you mean by archive.  Do you mean WeatherCat loses its database?  This is very strange indeed because not only is JC correct that you have a backup that defaults to daily, but WeatherCat gives you the option to backup your data everything time you upgrade.  So you should have multiple copies to recover from and I've never had any data loss problems when upgrading to a new version of WeatherCat.

Unfortunately, your question has arrived while the developer of WeatherCat, Stuart Ball is taking a well deserved Christmas break.  So your question will get more expert attention after the holiday break.

Hope you can hold out until then.

Cheers, Edouard  [cheers1]
