Hi Rich and WeatherCat fans,
New to the Banners feature.
Actually, we all are to some degree. Stu developed the Banners module to test the plug-in architecture of LWC2.1 and never intended it to go public. However it was so popular among us beta testers that . . . well, he changed his mind!! So it is still with a few rough edges.
Simple questions: Once you drop an image into the rectangle is the only way to remove it to place another image in there?
Yup, I think you are right on that one. I suppose that's okay, but indeed it is a little odd to not have a way to remove it. Stu is on vacation through the end of this week, but you could ask him about it when he gets back.
Once you finish your banner (I am assuming this) you can FTP it directly to your web folder on your host site?
Then what do you use to display it? Is there a banner web tag? If there is I can't seem to find it?
The banner is uploaded with the rest of your active FTP data.
The file is called
WeatherCatBanner.jpg and will end up in the same directory as your weather web pages. Just create a link to that file and you can insert it in things like signatures. That's what most of us do. My signature looks like this:

Weather Underground: http://www.wunderground.com/weatherstation/WXDailyHistory.asp?ID=KCAORIND10I think the banner generator instruction page is quite weak. Page 60 for ref.
There is a tutorial on how to create custom banners on the WeatherCat Wiki called:
Photo to active banner tutorial. Although that may not be exactly what you are looking for.
As noted the Banner feature is still a bit "immature." I'm sure Stu will read this thread and . . . do the right thing!!

Cheers, Edouard
