Wind Speed versus Wind Gust on WXUnderground

I was reviewing the weather data from my station on the Weather Underground website and noticed something interesting when comparing it to nearby stations. The wind speed and wind gust charts for other stations plot differently than mine. On my setup, running WeatherCat, the wind gust speed always appears directly on top of the wind speed, showing the same value for both. However, on a friend’s station, which uses AMBWeather, the wind speed and gusts are plotted as distinct values.

Is this just the way WeatherCat works or have I missed something?
