TESA Weather station
« on: January 14, 2023, 11:09:13 PM »
I have recently installed a TESA WS 2980C-Pro. I cannot find a way to download data to WeatherCat. It uploads data to Ecowitt Weather through WiFi.

I am not sure who actually Manufactures the brand but it seems to be similar Ambient (WS-500) and LaCrosse brands
Anybody out there with a solition. I am reluectant to drop WeatherCat as i have run it for some years and it integrates with Meteotemplate

I think this is a problem only the Dev can answer. He probably needs at least some software (API) from the makers of the hardware that will give him access to where ever the data resides. He would probably also need an actual 2980C-Pro to use in testing his software. It would probably help if you contact him with as much hardware/software info you can gather about this product. Contributing the cost of a system might help him place this higher on the "Wish List"! cmu:-)

It seems to me that most of these new setups (including Davis) want to tie you into their 'cloud' because it is the easiest method for them. They then build one website and possibly allow some user choices in what is displayed. It's just another way to monetize (otherwise known as subscription fees) the customer, in my cynical personal opinion. [rolleyes2] :'( :-X

Those that use metric = #1 Measurement system
And the United States = The Banana system

I don't believe it is supported by WeatherCat (Re: TESA Weather station)

Dear Bob, X-Air, and WeatherCat station caregivers,

I have recently installed a TESA WS 2980C-Pro. I cannot find a way to download data to WeatherCat. It uploads data to Ecowitt Weather through WiFi.

Unfortunately as far as I can tell, the TESA station you have purchased isn't supported by WeatherCat.  The list of stations that can connect to WeatherCat is listed on this webpage:

https://trixology.com/weathercat/

I don't see your station listed there.  Looking at the manual for your station online, it operates very differently than any other station that WeatherCat supports.  You could contact WeatherCat technical support just to be certain, but I'm afraid you would need to switch to station that is supported by WeatherCat in order to continue using the software.

Sorry, that I cannot be of more help.
