Dear WeatherCat climate watchers,

The National Weather Service's Climate Prediction Center has issued an advisory of for unusually cold temperatures for most of the country next week.  Here is the link to the warning and the graphic itself:

I don't pay that close attention to the Climate Prediction Center website, but I've never seen a warning like this.  So, just in case you weren't aware of this - now you are . . . . . .

Yes, it is getting colder in the Northern Hemisphere, that is what it has been doing.  Yesterday it was 72, today it was 66 , tomorrow 23 and next week sometime, snow. Oh joy.

So I went out to my Davis, replaced the backup batteries, cleaned the leaves out of the rain collector and checked the whole thing that it looks like it can sustain working in this crummy weather.

The jetstream has shifted , we are getting a gift from Canada and that over night 85% humidity should have produced rain.  We didn't get any, but theoretically.   We are in a terrible drought. The rivers are low enough that one can stand in the middle where it was covered by 10 to 20 feet of water.  The Mississippi River is so low that barges that would be moving grain to places, can't go because no water.   Climate change, probably.  Global warming, sure.  Republicans in power now so there goes the environment.

Either way, it is cold, winter is coming. I hate winter, and I hate ice, unless it is in a drink of mine.  I hate putting on ice cleats on my shoes to avoid falling down in this neighborhood where no one cares if you fall down, as long as it isn't in their yard.

So with that bit,  I put out my snow depth stick where I can see it from the family room window. All we can do is measure the conditions that befall us and hope that Mom Nature and Pop winter are not mad at us.  [freeze]

THERE ARE TWO TYPES OF COUNTRIES
Those that use metric = #1 Measurement system
And the United States = The Banana system
