Weather Channel Video on Daylight Savings time.

Dear WeatherCat observers of the seasons turning,

It is that time of year when change our clocks to go back to standard time.  That was the excuse apparently for this video from the Weather Channel:

It is about as light-weight as can be and tried to strike a neutral tone on the issue of what to do about daylight savings.  However, the video does mention something that I wasn't aware of.  Health experts argue that the best choice would be to remain permanently on standard time because it would represent the least disruption to our Circadian rhythms.  According to these experts, daylight savings exacerbates a host of health issues from heart attacks to depression.

Certainly, something to think about.

Here in Utah, in 2020, the legislature and governor authorized Utah to go to permanent DST when (1) it was authorized by the US Congress, and (2) four additional western states went to permanent DST. Earlier this year, the US Senate passed a bill to authorize permanent DST in 2023. So far, the House has not acted on it. Changing our clocks twice a year is stupid.
