Hi All
It's been a very long time since I posted here but I have a excuse this year.
I had a flare up of my Crohn's disease late last year which my GP (doctor) basically ignored just told me to drink more fluids, but they did take some bloods which fortunately were copied to my Gastroenterologist who called me in for urgent CT scans. Apparently I had a stricture of the bile duct where it enters the liver. I was admitted to hospital for a stent insertion which was hoped would enlarge the stricture and allow free flow of bile again.
By this time I was very jaundiced and could have been a stand in for Homer Simpson.
Unfortunately the stent did not work, and I was admitted as an emergency (blue lights et al), with severe abdomen pains. I remember the ambulance arriving at A&E but after that nothing. Only weird hallucinogenic dreams due to the ******tails of drugs that was pumped into me.
Apparently I was admitted to intensive care for a period of 22 days, I had pancreatitis, sepsis, kidney failure, liver failure, according to the doctors notes my heart stopped at one stage, and I got dry gangrene on the little toe right foot. Near the end of my time in hospital I had been transferred to a ward from the isolation room I had been in for almost 4 months, only to be told 2 days later that the ward was now a "red ward" due to somebody being diagnosed with Covid !
In all I was in hospital for five months but home now, and trying to get fit (ish) once again, but it's going to be a long road back.
On the home front whilst I was in hospital my Mac mini crashed and rebooted, but the web site went down and as I cannot kneel down to reach the mouse etc which are under a desk, I haven't been able to get the site back on-line so far. Also my wife crashed my car a BMW i3 (ev), luckily she wasn't injured but the car was a write up. Replaced now by a Hyuandi Kona (ev).
