Confusing precipitation readings
« on: August 28, 2021, 05:29:41 PM »

Hi, all !

Much to my astonishment I found two different readings for today's precipitation - see attached pic.
It seems the graph displays use an information source different from the source the gauges use ?
Any words of wisdom, masters ?

In your WC 'signature' graphic (Katzhagen Garden Railroad), you have "0.9mm/h" at 18:36. Best I can tell "Letzter Regen" means last rain.

First assumption: The (custom?) graph is using "total rain per day"?

Second assumption: The Custom Gauge labeled "Regen" is using 'Annual' or 'Monthly' rain. I think they may show 'Jahresregen' or  'Monatliche Regenerierung' in the Tools->Custom Gauges->Main Pointer list.
THERE ARE TWO TYPES OF COUNTRIES
Those that use metric = #1 Measurement system
And the United States = The Banana system

Dear Michael, X-Air and WeatherCat troubleshooters,

Much to my astonishment I found two different readings for today's precipitation - see attached pic.

In addition to X-Air's suggestions, you should take a look at the Live Data (Under the Tools menu - 4th entry from the bottom.)  That will tell you the raw number that WeatherCat has gotten from your weather station.  Hopefully, that number will correspond to one of your two displays.  From there you can attempt to ascertain what is wrong with the other display.  It might be another case of needing to delete and recreate either the gauge or graph.  If so, that would be once more a reason for concern with regard to your preference files.

Cheers, Edouard
