July 2021   8.04" (MTD)
July 2020   1.40"
July 2019   2.91"
July 2018   4.64"

At least 80% of the country could use some of that! I think there are record low rain falls in most of the land west of the Mississippi, from the Arctic Circle to Mexico City on the south!
THERE ARE TWO TYPES OF COUNTRIES
Those that use metric = #1 Measurement system
And the United States = The Banana system

Dear ColdnFrosty, X-Air, and WeatherCat observers of precipitation,

Seems like rain everyday this July.  . . . .

At least 80% of the country could use some of that! I think there are record low rain falls in most of the land west of the Mississippi, from the Arctic Circle to Mexico City on the south!

For the moment, Northern California is very much in that wide swath of drought west of the Mississippi.  However, the monsoons have been drenching areas to our south and east.  The odds aren't very high, but we might pick up more rain than we ever have before in July.  The most ever recorded in July at Canebas weather station in 11 years is 0.02"

Alas, also in the cards is lightning and that could start new wildfires instead.

Such are da' conditions that prevail in the far west.

Cheers, Edouard

Wow! I'm glad someone is getting some rain. Lack of rain is pretty serious out here in the west, except for the days when we get flash floods.
