  . . . . So during the mid-summer Deb gets to pick the campgrounds? . . . . . . .   

Seriously, do you know what sort of wattage that machine uses?  I tried to ferret out that sort of info yesterday and sites like Home Depot have given up on that sort of technical detail.  We have an old room air conditioner that is rated 10 amps or 1200 watts but I don't know its BTU rating.

Not that I'm getting an commission from Honda or anything, but Honda does have these two tiny generators.  The EU1000:

We had a fellow doing pipe inspections and he used I think the EU1000 to power his camera and display.  It sure was quiet and light weight.  That little machine running outside is very unlikely to be noticeable over the sound of the air conditioner.

  . . . . . Alas, there is one problem with these little machines.  They may be quiet, but that doesn't mean they are inexpensive!! . . . .

Says 700W cooling and 1300W heating. We don't take it when it is cold. A little 200W ceramic works too well in the small area, so we just use it intermittently. Plus it is the size of a large coffee mug and about $20.

Climate-Rite had some quality issues the last couple of years and short supply. We should have sold ours while there was a demand. Now folks are finding other ways to cool teardrops and small campers, such as mini-split and similar designs.

Interesting!  That's quite miserly at 700 watts to cool and since it is designed for outdoor use, it should be plenty rugged!

We don't take it when it is cold. A little 200W ceramic works too well in the small area, so we just use it intermittently. Plus it is the size of a large coffee mug and about $20.

When the volume to be heated is very small, you don't need all that heat to make it comfortable.  The occupant's body heat does contribute.  So in this case small is definitely beautiful!

Thanks again for sharing!  I do have a soft spot for teardrops.  I visited a teardrop rally in San Diego back in the late 1990s.  That first stirred my imagination towards travel trailers.

I suppose I should also apologize for my "A/C on the brain."  However given the heat wave we are having in the western states,  It is kind of hard not to think about air conditioning!!

Dear WeatherCat homeowners who seek to be prepared for the unexpected,

Just a quick update on our new Honda EB2800 generator.  I wanted to run the generator once a month during wildfire season.  I fell behind and didn't run it until today which is 6 weeks after than when I finished breaking the engine in.  Nonetheless the engine fired right up just like my Honda powered lawn mower.  I don't know how fussy these engines are with respect to fuel stabilizer.  Still, this generator is already running much better than the Champion generator it has replaced.

It isn't like I want our power cut off, but if (and most likely when) it happens, we'll be as ready for it as we can realistically be!

Good report. That Honda will do just fine with stabilizer. It only get's fussy when you don't add it.
