WeatherCat Version 3.1.2 Now Available
« on: February 07, 2021, 11:21:00 AM »
We are pleased to announce the release of WeatherCat 3.1.2. This is a bug fix release for issues when running on macOS 11 (Big Sur).

Changes as follows:
1. Fix for banner generator not generating banners on macOS 11

2. Fix for custom text windows custom web uploads not working on macOS 11

3. Work around for flickering basic gauges on macOS 11

The flickering gauges are a macOS 11 bug which is not yet fixed by Apple. This build includes a work-around which sacrifices some processor cycles to work around the issue. The work around only kicks in if running on macOS 11 or later and the gauges window is visible – if the OS is earlier, or the gauges window is not visible, no work around is applied.

WeatherCat V3.1.2 is available for immediate download via the following link: https://data.trixology.com/downloads/WeatherCat3.dmg, or if you are running WeatherCat V3.0.0 or later, you can wait for the update notification within WeatherCat to update automatically.

In addition, an updated macOS client is also available in the WeatherCat Miscellaneous Files download: https://data.trixology.com/downloads/WeatherCatMiscellaneousFiles.zip

WOO HOO!
Thanks... I only have the client running on Big Sur...but it won't be long before my main computer will be up there as well.

And yes all works as expected now.

Thanks!

Dear WeatherCat faithful,

There has been an abrupt change in the weather in California and probably other parts of the west.  We are in the middle of the first atmospheric river event of the 2021-22 rainy season.  We have gone from the fear of wildfires to concerns about flooding in one storm!  I had all but forgotten my storm status custom text window, but it has become indispensable as the rain has continued to fall:

Thank you Stu! This feature alone makes caring for a household that much simpler!

What does the 2021-22 rainy season hold for us?  Definitely a good question!    It does appear that at least the wildfire season is all but extinguished, and we will avoid any Public Safety Power Shutoffs after having had to endure them 2 years in a row.

Cheers, Edouard  [cheers1]
