Problem with Safari 14.0.1 with Mojave

Noticed a couple of days ago that I could not activate the "Choose File" button at another site that uses the same SMF software. Turns out it doesn't work for me here, either. It's not the forum software, it's the browser/OS combo.

So, if you are using this combination of Safari and Mojave, and have this problem, it looks like we're in "good" company. The "I have this problem too" button shows 175 hits! I didn't click but I have reported/submitted a the bug. For future reference: https://www.apple.com/feedback/safari.html

Upload files using import functionality not working on Mohave - 14.0.1 safari version..
but working on Catalina.. something is terribly wrong in Mojave release.. please look into it..

After updating Safari to 14.0.1 I was unable to upload any files.  Called Apple support on 11/16/2020. They had me on hold for 45 minutes. When they finally connected me with a technician, I was on the line with him for another 40 minutes and resolved nothing. He suggested that I install Chrome or Firefox. Unbelievable...

There are at least half a dozen threads here reporting the same bug. Please report it to Apple.

Probably correct. Selecting a file in Safari 14.0.1 on Catalina 10.15.7 works fine.

I was actually planning on installing Catalina this week, but I stopped when I saw this problem. It has taken me several days to figure out that it wasn't something in my System (actually three different computers!). I'll likely go ahead and "upgrade", I will probably wait until after Thanksgiving; I don't like to be complaining and giving thanks at the same time!!

I just tried the suggested combination on another SMF forum and get the same broken button.  It isn't a solution, but I keep two browsers current (Firefox and Safari) based on the idea that it is very unlikely to have a website that will not work on both.  Thus far, this has gotten me unstuck on every such misery I've encountered on the World Wide Web.

Such are da' conditions dat' prevail on the Internet these days, . . . . .

Same here. To further pin this on Safari, the problem still exists when changing the User Agent in Safari's Develop menu to Firefox. The real FF, of course, works purfektley.

I installed Catalina yesterday. After getting everything up-to-date, Safari 14 now works as it should with the "Choose File" and/or "Browse" button.
