WeatherCat Version 3.1.1 Now Available
« on: November 08, 2020, 04:30:02 PM »
We are very pleased to announce the release and immediate availability of WeatherCat 3.1.1.

This is a bug fix update for 3.1.0. with the following changes:

1. Fix AppleScript QueryResult broken if value returned is 1000 or greater and grouping separator is in use on the system – visible for example as pressure being broken on Twitter if units are hPa or mBar with values of 1000 or above.

2. Fix pressure being broken in export if units are hPa or mBar and grouping separator in use on the system.

3. Correct spelling of ‘Drier’ in monthly summary tag.

WeatherCat V3.1.1 is available for immediate download via the following link: https://data.trixology.com/downloads/WeatherCat3.dmg , or if you are running WeatherCat V3.0.0 or later, you can wait for the update notification within WeatherCat to update automatically.

FYI: In relation to my message yesterday, I was curious if the 2nd fix listed here would change anything - but it doesn't.

If I set the system's 'grouping separator' to "." (Mac Mini with 10.13.6) I get the problem again with the pressure Gauge when barometric pressure is 1.000 hPa or higher.
If I set 'grouping separator' to "none" the problem goes away.

No change in behaviour between WC 3.1.0 and 3.1.1.
Not a problem as there is a workaround, but I thought I let you know.

We are very pleased to announce the release and immediate availability of WeatherCat 3.1.1.

Thanks! Running pretty well on the Big Sur release. Just a couple unusual bugs that I reported in the Bugs topic.

The update does not start up on my Big Sur.  I have attempted to update the Silabs drivers, but the system seems to be rejecting loading the driver.  Thoughts?

The update does not start up on my Big Sur.  I have attempted to update the Silabs drivers, but the system seems to be rejecting loading the driver.  Thoughts?

This is what worked for me:

1. Make sure the SiLabs driver has been deinstalled before performing this.
2. Reboot into Recovery Mode (hold Command-R until the Apple logo displays).
3. Log in with your password.
Select Utilities>Terminal from the drop down menu.
4. In Terminal, enter the following command:
    /usr/sbin/spctl kext-consent add 52444FG85C
5. Verify success with the following commands:
/usr/sbin/spctl status                      SHOULD RETURN "Kernel Extension User Consent: ENABLED"
/usr/sbin/spctl kext-consent list       SHOULD RETURN "Allowed Team Identifiers: 52444FG85C"
6. Now reboot into Big Sur and install SiLabs 5.3.5. Reconfigure Station Comms in WeatherCat and you should see the SiLabs 5.35 listed.
