WC 3 and Oregon Scientific WMR200

I am trying to implement a new Weathercat instance with a Oregon Scientific WRM200 and an eval copy of WC 3. Weathercat seems to connect but returns: 4:54:48 PM 02-Mar-2020: Weather data not ready - retrying in 30 seconds. repeatably.

I’ve used Weathercat for many years with a Davis Vantage Pro2 and IP link but the WRM200 has baffled. (This is at a second residence so a full Davis setup is hard to justify)

Sorry you are having trouble initialising the setup. I don't know anything about the WMR200 so I'm not any help, but there is one Wiki article about the data logger.

Hey, thank you. I did try to clear memory but can't remember if it was trying WC or weewx or cumulus or weatherdisplay or... I'll try it with WC. Just FYI I am able to successful connect to an old copy of Weather Snoop but it's a demo and I don't think I can license it now.

I have not yet been able to get WC to work with the wmr200. However I was able to get it to work with weewx (on an rpi) by setting the erase_archive parameter to False. I had deduced from the weewx logs and because WC "hangs" at startup looking for archive records that there was a problem with the historic records timestamp. I will now try to see if that is the issue with WC. I'll look for a WC parameter to ignore historical records on startup as I have time. Currently I'm "playing" with weewx to ftp to my website, add camera etc. For now I can see it at KORTIDEW5 and hopefully the website soon.

I could find no obvious config for historical records but page 237 - 38 of the manual seem to indicate WC would recognize bad records and display something like "X of 0" records but I believe it displays the "0 of 500" at startup.  I'm using it on the weewx platform and am reluctant to disconnect after finally getting it to work at all!

Hi all
I've been using WMR200 and WC for many years and what you describe at the top seems to be a normal behaviour.
Upload of data takes indeed a lot of time.

To give you a benchmark, i usually upload data once per week and it takes 6-7 minutes.
Maybe check on the console the minutes between each records. Mine is set to one every 5 minutes but you can setup this up to one for each minute which would obviously multiply by 5 the time of upload.

I have never understood why the upload is so slow to be honnest. Importing a few thousands of raw data with a cable should be almost immediate but anyway I'm used to it and have become patient
