NOAA report setup

Hi,

With regards to the rain and temperature columns;
How do I enter the average rainfall and temperature for each month.
This is needed in order for the report to show any deviation from the normal.
I have tried searching without success.

Since this is your first posting on the WeatherCat forum, by all means welcome!

I don't believe WeatherCat provides a way to enter the averages.  The problem with trying to do this is that you would need averages for your particular weather station.  Most of us are too far away from any established data collection stations to be able to use those averages and even our longest running stations don't have enough data to really provide reasonable estimates of the averages.

Is your station an exception and you do have trustworthy average values from some source?

I found the 30 years average temps and precipitation figures for the period 1979 to 2009.
I have my weather station averages for the period 2012 to the present day.
I am able to enter the data into the weatherlink NOAA report.

Weathercat NOAA style report has the columns:
Total and deviation from the normal in both annual temperature and annual precipitation.

The attached shows the average settings that Entered in the Vantage Pro 2 NOAA setup

Weatherlink average temps and rainfall are set in the NOAA report setup feature within the console software.

I would urge some caution in trusting data unless you really have good reason to compare it against what your station is collecting.  In my region alone, I can see enormous variation in what is reported by personal weather stations less than a mile away from me.  If these 30 year averages were collected at a station with significantly different conditions than your own - you are comparing apples and oranges.  The 7 years of data you have from your station really isn't giving you a realistic sense of long term averages.

Okay, if WeatherLInk supports this feature then it is certainly a reasonable request that WeatherCat does so as well.  I suggest you explicitly make that request in the forum topic:  "WeatherCat Feature Requests"
