Setting up Mac Mail (Mojave) in weather cat
« on: November 26, 2019, 06:34:11 PM »
Hi all:

I have been trying to get the mail part of weather cat working since moving to a new iMac and Mojave.
I have read page 191 of the manual and done several searches, but I can't get Weathercat to send an email?

I keep getting this msg....

Any ideas?

Thanks

Rich

App-specific password? (Re: Setting up Mac Mail in weather cat)

Dear Rich and WeatherCat troubleshooters,

I have been trying to get the mail part of weather cat working since moving to a new iMac and Mojave.

Did you try to obtain an application specific password for WeatherCat to use?  Those are now required for all iCloud accounts.  Here is the Apple support document about it:

https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT204397

Let us know if that solves your problem.

Cheers, Edouard  [cheers1]

Thanks for the help...now where does one type that app specific password?
Some other apps warn and then tell you where to type it in???

A little direction would be very much appreciated.

Rich

Same question I have. Would look at my own WC settings but I'm having memory usage hogging problems on that computer right now... [banghead] [rolleyes2]
THERE ARE TWO TYPES OF COUNTRIES
Those that use metric = #1 Measurement system
And the United States = The Banana system

Dear Rich, X-Air, and WeatherCat troubleshooters,

Thanks for the help...now where does one type that app specific password?
Some other apps warn and then tell you where to type it in???

Here is a screenshot of the WeatherCat email preferences pane with the password field marked with an arrow:

Simply paste the application specific password obtained from the Apple website and you should be good to go so long as you have all the other parameters set for iCloud email.

Cheers, Edouard  [cheers1]
