clear vantage pro 2 question
« on: December 24, 2016, 06:25:48 PM »
Holiday Greetings!
I've moved and in process of setup for the WC in my new location. My first goal is simple, but can't find out how to do it. How do I delete ALL of the weather data from my Vantage Pro2?  I assume once I do that and set up new folders for WC I'll be good to go.
Thanks! [sun2]

Page 17 (a 2-year old model) of The Console Manual: Clear All Command
Quote
After you have completed the above setup procedures and have exited the Setup Mode, please use the Clear All command before putting your weather station into service. The Clear All command clears all stored high and low weather data including monthly and yearly highs and lows and clears the alarm settings. The command is recommended to properly clear the console of any erroneous data before first putting the station into use.

1. Make sure wind speed is showing in the wind compass. If wind direction is showing, press WIND on the console until wind speed appears.
2. Press 2ND, then press and hold CLEAR for at least six seconds.
3. Release CLEAR when you see ?CLEARING NOW? displayed at the bottom of the
console?s screen.
Home that helps. BTW, you can download The Manual for future reference. Or use this link to the <PDF>.
THERE ARE TWO TYPES OF COUNTRIES
Those that use metric = #1 Measurement system
And the United States = The Banana system

xairbusdriver -
Thanks! I've got the manual and had tried this routine yesterday, without success (I thought). Thanks to your encouragement I did it again, rebooted WC and watched it dutifully load the former location database! The WeatherData folder in my user Library was the source of the data! Now I've renamed that (to preserve it) and started WC again. To my delight I now get the following message when accessing "Statistics" from the menu: "Puerto Vallarta, Jalisco, Mexico   Not enough data for statistics yet."  Perfect! Online soon from Mexico where the temperature today is a pleasant 80 degrees.

Dear senorwx and WeatherCat station caregivers,

I'm glad you were able to solve your problem.

Perfect! Online soon from Mexico where the temperature today is a pleasant 80 degrees.

Lucky you!  Northern California has been in the grips of a nasty cold snap with temperatures under 50˚ in the day and right at the edge of freezing at night.  That cold air appears to be headed east and will be making the rest of the United States chilly I assume.  I wonder if this is the sort of weather that is consistent with La Ni?a?

Cheers, Edouard
