Aux temp questions
« on: April 01, 2016, 02:50:39 AM »
I have a Davis VP2 plus, a fully populated soil moisture temp station/ leaf wetness 1.
I also have a temperature station; and 3  temperature /humidity stations as well as a wireless anemometer station.
My configuration is:
Station 1  ISS
Station 2  Soil Station
Station 3  Attic (temp/humid)
Station 4  Soil Surface (temp station)
Station 5  Basement (temp/Hum station)
Station 6  Wireless Anemometer
Station 7  Crawl Space ( Temp/Humid station)
Station 8  Not in use

I am wanting to do extra gauges,  and I can get 2 of the Aux temp to work.   I can get on Aux 1  Station 3 (attic)  and on Aux 2  Station 5( basement) and nothing else on the temperture. The  humidity works fine for aux Humid 1,2.

I would love to be able to actually use station 4 as I am monitoring that.   I have tried, with the envoy, switching off stations that I am not wanting to track and it makes no difference, switching off 3 and 5  then nothing aux works.      I can (tomorrow) go out to the stations and re-adjust the dip switches and swap out 4 for station 3 if it would work.

So..  any suggestions on getting the Davis to show up on the auxillary stations?

I do monthly weather condition statistics and soil surface temperature is one of the things I monitor.

Check the Live Data View from WeatherCat's 'Tools' menu - all the channels will be listed there. Check that the ones you want to use are showing as 'Valid'.

Nothing untested in your setup. (Re: Aux temp questions)

Dear Weatheraardvark, Stu, and WeatherCat fans,

I am wanting to do extra gauges,  and I can get 2 of the Aux temp to work.   I can get on Aux 1  Station 3 (attic)  and on Aux 2  Station 5( basement) and nothing else on the temperture. The  humidity works fine for aux Humid 1,2.

You do have a packed VP-2 station setup, but that shouldn't present any problems.  A number of us have temperature sensors.  There are a few people who have the soil and leaf sensors.  So what you are trying to do isn't untested on WeatherCat.  You might need to do a little troubleshooting, but what you are trying to do should work.

Let us know what you uncover.

Edouard

Strange course of events.  So last night I got what I posted.  Shut down the computer and went to bed.   I had an idea, take the Envoy with the usb port,  over to the wife's computer, set up weatherlink on that and check the transciever settings. They were fine.  Re connected back  to the MAC, fired it up and Weathercat recognized everything.  I don't think I did anything when I checked out the settings, but something must have happened on reboot.

Anyway, it works as I want.   Nice program and I am looking forward to what else comes down the pike.  :)    I have the iphone app. I can get local but haven't yet done anything on port forwarding for the remote.  I have 11 ip cameras going and port forwarding is a breeze
