Redesigned WeatherBug email
« on: August 17, 2015, 02:53:17 AM »
I'm assuming many of you got the email about the upcoming changes at Weatherbug? Someone needs to fix the carriage return button on that computer, 'cause my eyes a bleeding! I think it came out of their Department of Redundancy Department.  [goofy]

Remember when WeatherBug Desktop 7 for Mac was going to be worked on "real soon"? WeatherBug Desktop 10 for Window is being released. That was three years ago when "real soon" was supposed to happen...

Dear Steve, and WeatherCat fans,

I'm assuming many of you got the email about the upcoming changes at Weatherbug?

I looked at it briefly, but it didn't seem to matter to me anyway.  I almost fished it out of the trash, but decided that was too much work.

According to the Wikipedia article on WeatherBug, in 2012 it is the #2 Internet destination after the Weather Channel:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/WeatherBug

It even beat Weather Underground.  I'm not sure that's true anymore and I suspect in part it is because it has fallen behind on its software development.

Cheers, Edouard

I like WeatherBug on my iPhone. I've had it for many years, even upgraded to the 'Elite" version. But I have been disappointed and confused about how to see/post my stations data and view it on the iPhone.

I visited the "WeatherBug Backyard Community" site and finally 'approved' a 'welcome message' I got months ago when I joined. Apparently, you have to click an "approve" link before the sender finds out you got the message. You don't have to do that to read/view the message, of course, so all that happens is that the sender thinks I'm some kind of snob or lacking in common decency by taking so long to "approve" her message! [rolleyes2] Oh well, so much for the "Community" (whatever the name is after their re-branding).

As for the info and its affect on anyone, it would seem that the major change will cause any uploaded images/movies/comments to be lost. I guess there are some who expect things sent to these social sites will always be around? It's bad enough that much of the personal data probably will be as permanent as it can be! It even worse, if anyone thinks they will always be able to access images/movies/data they may upload. [rolleyes2]
THERE ARE TWO TYPES OF COUNTRIES
Those that use metric = #1 Measurement system
And the United States = The Banana system
