Dear WeatherCat climate watchers,

Here is the latest 1 month and 3 month forecasts from the National Weather Service - Climate Predication Center.  Here is the one month forecasts of departures from normal temperatures for April:



Here is the equivalent 3 months predictions of temperatures departures from normal for April through June:

While the precipitation outlooks are neutral the temperature outlooks are clearly going to make the drought in the west that much worse.

Not much to cheer about out here in the West, I'm afraid.

I'm wondering how long it will take for that Governor to build a few desalinization plants. There's plenty of water there for the taking. It just needs to have the sea salt removed. Perhaps the coming robot economy will help. Robots don't get thirsty, eat almonds or water their lawns.

Hey, fuel cells produce water. Perhaps the Governor could mandate that everyone switch to fuel cells with attached water cisterns.

Don't mean to make light of a serious situation, Edouard. Just thinking and worrying out loud. Looks like all ideas need to be on the table at this point.
