really out of control here in Orinda all of a sudden!!

That's a rainfall rate of 252 mm per hour for you metric types . . . .

*Sniff*, . . . . not exactly. With all the wind preceding this storm, some seeds got into the collector cone of my rain gauge.

When I stirred the debris around, the water in the cone drained out. Thus creating the apparent deluge.

So, if your rain gauge does seem to be working on a windy day . . . . . here is a possible cause to investigate!
