Hi Blick and WeatherCat

. . .
researchers of da' paranormal . . . . .

I noticed that I have six random WeatherCat backups located in the root of my Library folder. They are each from last year and are from different months. My current backups, for the last 7 days, are all located in Library/WeatherCatBackups (the location I specified in the Backup tool). I haven't changed the location of my backups path in WeatherCat | Tools | Backups.
1. Any idea what might cause the odd backup to be placed somewhere other than in the folder specified in the Backups tool?
Well, . . . . . I'm sure there is a
rational explanation
somewhere . . . . but for now we can place the blame on
d'em usual gremlins!!
2. Any reason I shouldn't delete the random old backups?
If the old data is clearly very much out of date and your current data looks fine - of course you can delete it. You might want to quickly cruise your current data using the WeatherCat date and time selector to make sure nothing has gotten corrupted, but computers have finally started to have the sort of backup redundancy that was needed all along. If you have a system backup scheme in place, what WeatherCat does is already a secondary redundancy. Beyond that, how redundant you have to get!

. . . .
I could answer that question but that would take us into that taboo realm of forum topics - politics!!! . . .
