Hi, thxs for the quick reply.
No control over subject line... that's what I guessed from a quick reading of the WC manual. But, since WC includes the ability to launch a program when an alert is triggered, I will easily be able to accomplish sending an email with any subject line I desire using an Applescript. I just wanted to know if the capability existed within WC.
I'm going to connect
my VP2 rain gauge heater to a
Belkin WeMo Switch (WiFi-controlled switch), then, using a custom alert in WeatherCat, such as,
"-IF- Temp is less than 35f -AND- Ext Humidity is greater than 70%," send an email to my
IFTTT.com account (If This Then That - which has a WeMo channel) with the subject, "#RainHeater-ON", which will activate the WeMo-connected heater. A WC Clearing alert will alternatively turn the heater off via the same process.
The IFTTT trigger in the email subject line can only be one word, so the multi-word subject line generated by WC will not work.
The WeMo Switch can also turn itself on if Yahoo Weather reports current conditions in my area as "Snow," but I'm hoping to get more accurate results controlling the switch via my weather station.
