Weathercat and Mavericks-randomly fails to upload data

Hi 10.9 on an iMac. Keyspan dual port serial to usb adapter Version 2.6.4 software (the latest I could find). Monitor 2 wireless weather station.

Weathercat loads and runs fine except 2 or 3 times in a twenty four hour period it does not upload data and I get
an email stating I have had multiple sensor failures.
More annoying than this ,it seems Wunderground is monitoring my station very closely and I get a message from their Quality
Control which in effect says my temperature readings are outside the possible parameters in my locale.
They take me off their WunderMap and Rapid fire features and I have to email them to say I've corrected the problem,
which I guess obviously, I have not.
Don't know what to do at this point. I don't think its a hardware problem because it will run LWC without a hitch on my old iBook G4.
Where might I look for an answer?

Hi Cabut
 First left click on WeatherCat Application then get info and make sure that prevent app nap is ticked so WeatherCat doesn't nap and see if that helps or it's  a driver problem with Mavericks

Check your comms quality from WeatherCat's status window (Tools->Status) - it should be pretty much 100%. If not check the comms and sensor errors - comms errors are errors are errors related to the local connection between computer and console , sensor errors are sensor reading outside manufacturers stated range or just plain missing. Comms errors normally indicate either some USB driver or USB cabling issue, sensor errors are normally related to either low batteries, wiring issues (if wired) or RF interference if wireless (more info in the WeatherCat manual). The Live Data View will break out sensor errors by sensor and will give a good idea of which sensor is not being received correctly.

Comms quality 100% and no sensor errors.
I haven't changed the batteries in my wireless Monitor2 since I bought the weather station 15 yrs. ago.
Could be the problem, or perhaps the first solution from Randall75, prevent app nap not checked on Weathercat.
I will post when I know for sure. Wunderground QC is driving me nuts with temperature out of range messages,
although I can find any in the data.

Davis tech support says you should change the batteries every two years. However, I still have my original battery in my unit, now six years old. If you aren't seeing sensor errors I wouldn't think it was battery related.

Just checked-no errors.
I am amazed that the station is still up and running as well as it is.

Could not agree with you more. This year I bought a spare, just in case, but haven't and to break it out yet.

 I just changes all of your call letter to Capitals KAZTUBAC1 and every thing works if it is in Capital Letters
Check your setting in WeatherCat's Preferences and make sure it is in Capitals letters  like this KAZTUBAC1 and try again

The Vantage Pro2 units use a standard 3-volt lithium battery, type CR123.

I didn't check your station.
My station is a Monitor2 and calls for a 6 volt rechargeable gel cell as well as a 3 volt lithium.

It looks like this. (see attachment)

I haven't opened the case in maybe ten years because it is inconveniently attached to a parapet on the roof.

Dear Blick, Tom, and WeatherCat Davis fans,

There is a difference in design between the Davis Monitor and the Davis Vantage Pro-2.  The Davis Monitor actually can recharge the 6 Volt battery if there is enough sunshine.  The Davis Vantage Pro-2 gave up on recharging the battery.  Instead, when there is enough sunshine, that is what is used to power the station.  At night the Lithium 123 battery is used.  That's why you probably need to replace the batteries more often on the VP-2.  I'm not sure how long they can last because I replace them once a year as a precaution.  I don't want to have to replace a battery in the middle of a nasty storm!!
