Hello,

Since WeatherCat is not a silicon application, the problem will arise when Apple will not support Rosetta2 anymore, probably with a next major version of MaOS.

Kind regards.

Horst.

Ah - so this is why Monterey warns me that WeatherCat will probably not work with the next MacOS version

Hello wx-watch,

That's exactly it, during the Mac OS 9 to Mac OS X transition there was Rosetta 1 which ensured the Classic to OS X transition, I don't remember for how long but it was not more than 3 years if I remember well.

Sincerely.

Horst.

On the upside,  If there is no support, no revision, then  no future sales of this product, no one will buy it, unless they have a dedicated computer that doesn't have the new OSX.

Well there is always weathersnoop out there

Hello,

Let's just say that we have 9 to 10 months before we have to make a decision about our favorite software, if in that time we don't hear from Stuart we will probably have to seriously consider finding another software and start over in 2023.

Sincerely.

Horst.

I really really hope WeatherCat continues for a very long time.

However just in case it doesn't I have imported all my WC data into WeeWX running on a Raspberry Pi 4b -

https://wx-watch.co.uk/weewx/

My Mac Mini is dedicated to the running of WC so just in case I now have Cumulus MX running under Mono as well as WC on it and using it to feed PWS Dashboard here -

https://wx-watch.co.uk/cumulusPWS/index.php

WC uses the USB Data Logger whilst CMX uses the Davis WeatherLink Live
