Rain gauge stopped working but easy fix
« on: April 02, 2016, 02:03:09 PM »
I have a LaCrosse 2316 WX station. Works great so far for 8 years although I am on my second rain gauge. Easy fix several times. I've had small lizards living in the gauge and lately 2 small frogs. The gauge sits on a rain gauge mounting shelf on a post and the creatures got through a drip hole on the shelf and into the gauge. Solved it by putting a window fiberglass screen under the gauge.

Used that method about 45 years ago to keep Geckos and mice out of a Hi-Fi turntable (Remember those?) while I was stationed in the Philippines! [lol]
THERE ARE TWO TYPES OF COUNTRIES
Those that use metric = #1 Measurement system
And the United States = The Banana system
