Dear Jeff and WeatherCat station caregivers,
Hi, I have a Vantage Pro
Is it a Pro or Pro-2? If it is the previous generation, you might be hard pressed to obtain parts.
The wind speed sensor on the anemometer is bad (heard a noise a couple of times while checking the cabling- it is on a 25 foot mast). Is there a way to disable Weather Cat (2.2.1) from recording Wind Speed?
As far as I know, at the moment there isn't any way to do this. Somebody correct me if I'm wrong. In addition, I thought that WeatherCat would not work if some of the sensors were unplugged like the anemometer. There is a problem like this earlier in the year and if I recall correctly, WeatherCat will wait for all standard sensors (temperature, humidity, rainfall, and wind) to be available before processing any data.
Sounds to me like this might be a desirable feature request. As our weather stations have grown older, we are all starting to have equipment problems. So this is new territory that Stu hasn't had to deal with much until now because most of us had
"spring chicken" stations. With next day air shipping, new parts can be obtained reasonably quickly, but during that time, it would be handy to collect and store the data we have coming from undamaged sensors while ignoring a sensor we know is malfunctioning.
Opinions all you
WeatherCatters?
Cheers, Edouard
