Thanks for the info. Maybe I find an old Mac running OS X early versions.  :)

Running WeatherLink in 32-bit? (Re: VP2 Console Dead)
« Reply #16 on: September 09, 2015, 10:11:18 PM »
Dear Reinhard, Stu, and WeatherCat fans,

Then I have to wait on Stu, because I am not able to get WL running on Yosemite (an older Java is to be downloaded, ...).

I just tested and I still can run WeatherLink and I'm running Java 8 version 51 (whatever that means.)  It is one of the Oracle releases so it is reasonably current.

Could your problem be that you haven't checked the option on WeatherLink app (file information) to force it to run in 32-bit mode?

If you do that, it should work fine on Yosemite.

Cheers, Edouard

Edouard,

you made my day! 32 bit - that was it. The only thing not working now is transmitter #3 (an additional temp sensor housed in this Wireless Temp Station). I set the #3 transmitter of the Envoy to *TEMP*, but there is also the possibility to set it to *TEMP 4X*. Unfortunately non of both works. Any hints? Oh, and yes, the additional temperature is shown on the two VP2 Consoles that I have in other rooms.

Thanks in advance,
Reinhard

Golly, not sure why it isn't working. (Re: VP2 Console Dead)

Hi Reinhard and WeatherCat Davis fans,

you made my day! 32 bit - that was it.

I've been caught by that problem before, so I had a suspicion!

The only thing not working now is transmitter #3 (an additional temp sensor housed in this Wireless Temp Station). I set the #3 transmitter of the Envoy to *TEMP*, but there is also the possibility to set it to *TEMP 4X*. Unfortunately non of both works. Any hints? Sorry, I don't own that device so I've never tried to configure it.  I would have expected "TEMP" to have been the correct setting.  I suppose you could try "TEMP/HUM" just to see, but that really shouldn't work.  How long did you wait to see if it works or not?  The Envoy can be really slow in to pick up a signal.

If that doesn't work, you might have to call Davis tech support because it really should.

Edouard

Transmitter ID Weather Envoy

Thanks for the reply, Edouard.

Now, the Envoy is waiting since over 24 hours on a signal from transceiver ID #3. Can you do me a favor and take a look at *Station Config*. I have only the options that are shown in the attached screenshot - shouldn't there be also an option Vantage Pro2?

Thanks for taking time,
Reinhard

That's the correct setting. (Re: VP2 Console Dead)

I don't know why but there isn't a separate option for Vantage Pro-2.  Mine looks just like yours and is working fine on Vantage Pro:

Sorry that isn't the problem.  Is the thermometer significantly farther from the Envoy?  Could it be out of range?  That's the only "reasonable" explanation.  If not, you may have a bad Envoy somehow.

Thanks for taking a look - much appreciated. Yes, I think that there is something wrong with the Envoy.

Cheers,
Reinhard

PS: I will open up another thread to this Envoy mystery.
