Back into a wet period - I hope! (Re: Rain for Northern Calfornia!)

Dear WeatherCat drought watchers,

After a dry middle of March, the rain spigot finally reopened yesterday and today.  We've gotten 0.84" (21.3mm) of rain out of this storm with perhaps a little more coming in the jet stream.  There is another storm coming over the weekend and yet another for Monday.  There might be even something about a week from now.  We need every drop as we are almost 2" (50mm) behind normal rainfall for March alone.  So bring on the wet!

Cheers, Edouard  [cheers1]

And thank you for leaving a wee bit for the rest of us. We have a couple of inches of snow in the mountains of Northern Utah this afternoon.

Hi Blick and WeatherCat victims of . . . . .

And thank you for leaving a wee bit for the rest of us. We have a couple of inches of snow in the mountains of Northern Utah this afternoon.

What is your forecast?  At the moment, the local office of the National Weather Service is still holding to the forecast of 3 storms coming through at 2-3 day intervals.  [rain2]  Is that wet stuff headed your way as well?

Cheers, Edouard  [cheers1]

Yes, same here. Today's dumped 5 inches of snow after I posted this morning. Keep it coming.

Keeping my finger's crossed!

Howdy Randall and WeatherCat inhabitants and of the North American . . . . "freezer."  [freeze]

Awe shucks Randall, you've got to be a little patient!

The rain just got here in California!  [rain2]  It is going to take a few days for the jet stream's new direction to really start thawing you out!  [cloudsun]

Keep da' faith!

cheers, Edouard  [cheers1]

The next storm is here. (Re: A little rain for Northern Calfornia!)
« Reply #23 on: March 31, 2014, 09:43:25 PM »
Dear WeatherCat climate watchers,

The next storm in the sequence has arrived in earnest and heavy rains are falling.  [rain2]  However, unless this storm is unusually wet, we are unlikely to break even for normal rainfall for March.  At the moment we are over 1" behind and obviously we are running out of time this month.  Still, the storm seems to be striving to make up for the shortfall!

It appears that next week will continue to be wet for us.  It is supposed to also be above normal precipitation for the Rocky Mountain states.   Also the forecast is for moderating temperatures in the Midwest and east coast.

How will this all pan out . . . . stay tuned and see!

Cheers, Edouard  [cheers1]

P.S. My trusty wagon was supposed to head out into this wet for the great engine gasket replacement.  However, she wisely went over there early this morning and is presumably as snug as a bug in a rug in the Orinda Motors service bay!
