Glasses for a near-sighted Logitech 900 webcam

Based on a discussion over on the WXForum, I've added a -2 diopter lens to the front of my Logitech 900 webcam. I didn't realize how out of focus the camera was until trying this! Maybe this can be useful for other Logitech webcam users.

Top: standard Logitech 900 lens
Bottom: after adding -2 diopter corrective lens


I realize the lighting is drastically different, but you can tell that the focus has improved considerably. It also increases the field of view slightly.

Hmm, . . . . .  I never noticed the problem until you mentioned it.  However, I just checked my webcam and sure enough the focus looks equally bad in the same way.

Probably the right thing to do is to upgrade webcams instead.  Oh well, another thing to put on my do-to list.
