Sub-Minute Sampling Rate
« on: April 17, 2013, 08:36:52 AM »
I was wondering if sub-minute sampling rates are in the feature request list. Minute averages for the "active" channels, like wind, seem to be rather inaccurate now days. Is there any plan to support shorter sampling rates, even down to seconds?

I don't see larger files as a issue these days, especially with Terabyte drives being standard.

It's not in the feature request list, however, I do think a lot about it and I can't see any reason why we can't in the future (apart from some work by me re-architecting a few things to provide continuous recording).

It's the kind of thing that would happen on a major version release where I can guarantee lots of testing time before release.

Cheers,
Stu.

Just another thought... Maybe it would make sense to separate out the sampling for wind speed. That seems to have the shortest interval between updates (2.5 seconds) for the Davis Vantague Vue.

2.5 seconds - Wind Speed, Wind Direction, Direction of High Speed
10 seconds - Dew Point, Outside Temperature, Heat Index, Wind Chill
20 seconds - Rainfall Amount, Rain Storm Amount, Rain Rate
50 seconds - Outside Humidity
60 seconds - Barometric Pressure, Inside Humidity, Inside Temperature
