David Vantage Vue in JAPAN
« on: March 22, 2013, 07:59:39 AM »
I've finally found the time to put up the David Vantage Vue that has been sitting under my desk for 6 months. I originally imported the VV due to the lack of availability in JAPAN. As far as I know, the official distributor only sells the V2, which is marked up about 2 times that of elsewhere. I found the hardware on EBAY US and had it shipped directly to JAPAN (Thanks, BUYAUTHORIZED!) The duty on the import was a whopping 700 yen. :)

I also bought the WeatherLink USB adapter for WINDOWS from WeatherBuffs in the US, again cheaper then the distributor in JAPAN (Duty was zero!)

The whole installation is up and running now, after following the installation instructions for the latest USB drivers from SiLabs, and installing WeatherCat. I had no issues, and the data communications is currently running at 100%.

This is my first post to the forum, and I'm looking forward to some good discussions and advice.
