I've been running WeatherCat on a headless Mac Mini for just under 12 years with a Vantage Vue and grabbing data via a console connected over USB. It has been rock solid.

I'm in the process of upgrading equipment and realised I should do a swap (partly due to consolidating devices). I have all the hardware, just not quite ready to push the button and deploy !

Is there anyone running the following config, and has it been stable ?

Mac Mini M2 (or other Apple Silicon Mac)
Sonoma
Davis Weatherlink Live locally connected on network
Davis Vantage Vue

I did try installing a trial of WeatherCat on the M2, but it seemed to crash (and I got distracted and didn't manage to debug before trial ran out).

My intent is to copy over the existing WC database to the new machine. I haven't figured out what I want to do with a web server yet (I was running one locally exposed, but have switched to Starlink as an ISP so can't easily expose).

Thanks in advance !

Might want to use the Search function at this site. I suspect most "hits" will take you to the WeatherCat Bugs page.
THERE ARE TWO TYPES OF COUNTRIES
Those that use metric = #1 Measurement system
And the United States = The Banana system

Thanks, I should have said that I did do this, and could only find a single hit that (from a year ago) that implied crashing. I figured that perhaps things had moved on from then and that the user base might have adopted new hardware. I maybe should have replied back to that thread (which I will do now).

Headline : WeatherCat 3.20 + Apple M2 Mac mini + Davis WeatherLink Live working and seems stable

Just following up on this. As I was intent on trying to get it working, I purchased another WC license (happy to support developer for such a great product) and initially just linked to the WeatherLink Live to see if it was stable. It was !

I have now restored from my long-term WC setup (Vantage Vue ISS + Console/Serial Link) onto this new machine and it all works perfectly with no crashes for the last 24hrs. 10 years of historic data restored - very happy.

I can only think that running on the 'trial' vs. license was something to do with it.

Hope this post helps someone.
