AWEKAS issues
« on: April 05, 2023, 11:02:52 PM »
A search of the forum didn't really produce anything that appears relevant, but my AWEKAS uploading seems to have an issue.  AWEKAS emailed stating that they haven't received any data transmission from my station since March 31.  However, WC shows no errors, and AWEKAS appears to be uploading in it's normal fashion.

Any ideas?

I have restarted WC and also been to AWEKAS website, and they do truly have no data from my station.

AWEKAS is a bit of a hit and miss platform. You can contact their support guy for help, but first make sure your data file is actually on your site. Did your data upload ok to AWEKAS prior to March 31?

I had one additional thought. If you restart WeatherCat, with the WeatherCat Log window open (make sure it is open when you close the app and it it should open up automatically when you restart), about 50 lines down from the top you should see two lines that state:

AWEKAS is initialising.
AWEKAS is running.

Turn on logging of data sent? (Re: AWEKAS issues)

Dear Gman19, Blick, and WeatherCat troubleshooters,

There is one more thing you might try.  You can have WeatherCat log the data submitted.  It is a checkbox on the AWEKAS preference pane.  You can see how it works by looking at the current WeatherCat manual on page 149.

Let us know what you discover.

Cheers, Edouard

Edouard's response reminds me that when you open up the WeatherCat Window for AWEKAS in Preferences|On-Line|Additional Services you can see if your transmissions to AWEKAS are successful by looking at the Current Status pane. If your reports are not being acknowledged by AWEKAS there is a problem with your data file from WC. If your reports are acknowledged, then the issue is on the AWEKAS end.

As Edouard said, let us know what you find.

Thank you both for your input, and apologies for the delay in getting back to this.  A restart of WC with log open shows AWEKAS initializing and running, the AWEKAS transmission pane also appears to show no issues.  I will contact AWEKAS and see if they can offer any advice.  AWEKAS was working up thru 3/31, then all of a sudden it hasn't worked since.
Will keep thread updated.

Sorry to hear about your difficulties.  I just checked my WeatherCat installation and the AWEKAS module is uploading as it is supposed to.  Indeed I suggest you contact AWEKAS to see if they can spot a problem on their end.

Cheers, Edouard
