My soil moisture station needed 2 soil sensors, too expensive, so I uninstalled the whole thing. The station is in the shed without battery. Then I pulled up the pvc pipe I had drilled into the ground at 4,12, 24 and 36 inches. I did a real good job when I installed them. The station went without a whimper, the 4 inch pipe no problem. But the others my lord a vertical pull on a 90 degree thsw day isn't something a 74 year old with diabetes, and low hemoglobin, should be doing. Well it is gone. the holes will fill in over time.
I did a good install when I put them in 10 years ago. I won't say it will be easy to remove the weather mast when that time comes. I have a tripod with six 3 foot threaded steel rods holding that sucker down. The mast is 33 feet tall. the top weather thing doesn't work. For now I am leaving it as I have a lower unit working just fine and a backup too.
Hot day , might amaze the neighbors when they see the soil station gone.
