Total rain error after replacing Davis Envoy
« on: April 01, 2022, 03:16:17 PM »
Hi, I recently had to replace my Davis Envoy and now when I look at a graph of 'Total Annual Rainfall' the value drops from 7" prior to the Envoy replacement to Zero and climbed correctly from there. Is there a way to make sure the data from the prior data is connected to latest data so that the first 7" is not lost ? I am running WeatherCat 3.1.3. I thought about entering data into the 'Daily Rain Editor' but that did not seem correct as I may be doubling that initial 7". Any guidance would be appreciated.

What annual rainfall does WC currently report?

I would trust the collected historical data in WC before the Envoy.
THERE ARE TWO TYPES OF COUNTRIES
Those that use metric = #1 Measurement system
And the United States = The Banana system

Dear yardy, X-Air and WeatherCat station caregivers,

. . . .

Davis consoles and Weather Envoys store values for things like annual rainfall.  When you replace the component it starts at 0.  On the console you can change these values using the keypad, but of course you cannot do this with a Weather Envoy.

The solution should be to run Davis's WeatherLink Mac software, but that hasn't been possible for many years.  If you have an old Mac lying around that might allow you to run WeatherLink.  Another possibility is that you might be able to run the PC version of WeatherLink if you have PC emulation software.  Otherwise I don't know of any way to get around your problem on the hardware side.  Unfortunately, I don't know of any practical way to solve the problem on the WeatherCat side either.  However, since statistics are computed that shouldn't effect any other rainfall data.

Sorry, that is an example of us Mac users paying for Davis's neglect.
