Dear elderforester and WeatherCat fans of
more!So I now have a 2nd Vantage Pro 2 for the opposite end of the property about 800 feet from #1 and also 200 feet lower in elevation.
Also have a 2nd console with USB data logger.
Well, congratulations on the second station! Any reason why you needed two stations in relatively close proximity?
Any recommendations on how to interface 2 stations with WeatherCat?
Unfortunately, WeatherCat is specifically designed to work with one station only. There is no way for WeatherCat to collect data from more than one station at once. What you could do is have a second dedicated Mac for the second station. A dicier trick would be to have two separate accounts on the same Mac each account running its own copy of WeatherCat. Unfortunately, there isn't an obvious way to connect two USB interfaces because that is a system level driver. However, if you switched say to the IP data logger this might work. It has been tried in the past with limited success. There have been problems with the WeatherCat running on the background account "falling asleep." However, this has not been tried in many years, with changes to macOS it might be feasible now.
Sorry, that's the best advice I can offer.
