New User - Problem with email not being sent
« on: April 30, 2013, 06:35:12 PM »

Hi...  I am a relatively new user - about 1 month.  The daily data emails are not being sent.  I input info in Preferences and when test button is pressed I get a confirmation that email was sent successfully; however, it is never received.  I have tried several email addresses to send-to and have reset ISP mail server data several times.  Data at the bottom of the email/Preferences screen is checked.  Daily data boxes (4) are also checked.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Cliff

Hi Chiff!!

Hi...  I am a relatively new user - about 1 month.

Welcome to the WeatherCat Forum!

Usually problems like this are because you have some parameter in the SMTP settings that are off.   Have you looked at the WeatherCat manual on page 162 to see what the common settings are?

Also, if you ISP has settings for things like Apple Mail, you might be able to compare those settings to say the ones given in the WeatherCat manual for iCloud and figure out which parameter goes where.

If that doesn't work, post another question and if possible provide screenshots of your email configuration.  That will help others spot any problems.  Also, you might check the WeatherCat log window to see if there are any error messages when a test email is sent.

Hope that's a start anyway.

Cheers, Edouard  [cheers1]
