Dear Horst and WeatherCat troubleshooters,
It's been more than a month now that I have the vantage vue in service, compared to the WMR 200 that I was using before, there is only positive.
I'm glad you are happy with your Davis Vue station!
The only problem I have noticed is COM errors, on average 5 to 10 per 24 hours.
I am on Mac with MacOS 12.01 and WeatherCat for the weather software.
. . . .
There are a number of possible explanations for communication errors. Of course it matters whether you have a USB or IP data logger. I'm not aware of any communication problems with either the Davis Ethernet based logger or the 3rd party WiFi logger.
If you have a USB data logger, it is important to have the latest drivers. We have a Wiki page devoted to getting the latest drivers:
https://wiki.trixology.com/index.php?title=Obtaining_the_latest_drivers_for_use_with_Davis_data_loggersThese drivers are created by the manufacturer of the chipset used in the USB interface Silicon Labs. The place to download the drivers is here:
https://www.silabs.com/developers/usb-to-uart-bridge-vcp-driversYou now much click on the
Downloads tab to reach the files. The installation package you want is called:
CP210x VCP Mac OSX DriverThe version number is 6.0.2 and the release date is 10/26/2021.
Instructions are included on how to install the drivers.
Try updating to the latest driver and see if that solves you problem.
Do keep us updated on your troubleshooting.
Cheers, Edouard

P.S. Apologies if this reply doesn't translate well into French. Alas, my French is now so rusty that it is probably no better than your English!
