Dear Stu and WeatherCat fans,
I suppose I'm the first person in a very long time to have seen the corrupted data file dialog box. That's a
very good thing! ![Thumbs Up [tup]](https://athena.trixology.com/Smileys/default/thumbsup-1.gif)
Having reached this dialog box
da' hard way! ![Bang Head [banghead]](https://athena.trixology.com/Smileys/default/banghead.gif)
I believe as it presently is displayed, it encourages you to make a mistake. The default button is to initialize WeatherCat which means deleting all your old data. The alternative button is to quit, but if you do that, you are stuck unless you remember how to launch WeatherCat in safe mode. Since I didn't remember, I had to dig up my copy of the WeatherCat documentation to remember what was the control key to launch WeatherCat in safe mode so that I could reach the backup manager.
It's a small change, but if WeatherCat detects a corrupted data file and has backups, could a new button be added so that you can directly access the backup manager? Also, reflecting on my experience, I think the default button should be quit, it might be better to try to understand your problem before attempting to do anything.
Cheers, Edouard
