Dear Blick and WeatherCatters who like "pretty pictures."

I'm getting old and can't remember how to do something I've done for years.  :-[

How do you post the screenshot of Grand's WeatherCat RCP app in the body of your message without uploading it as an attachment?

Well it isn't much of a secret and you have to be will to use some of the space on your web server.  All I do is keep a folder on the web server and put the images there.  Then I to figure out the URL that goes to the WeatherCat RCP images.  So the image above has this URL:

Code: [Select]
http://www.canebas.org/WeatherCat/Forum_support_documents/WeatherCat%20climate%20reports%20-%202026/WeatherCat_Mar_2026_climate.jpg
If you copy that into a browser the WeatherCat RCP image will pop up.

It is using up some storage space, but these days web hosting providers give you plenty so thus far I haven't had to go back and delete old images.

I hope that's enough to jog your memory!  [bounce]

I love two of these photos as they give us a great perspective of the interior. I really enjoyed looking at the dashboard, including that amazing Buick radio. Well done, Edouard.

Dear WeatherCat climate watchers,

It is April fool's day, but it is difficult to imagine anything much serious than extreme weather.   March was an extreme roller coaster here in the greater San Francisco bay area.  This is shown on the report from Canebas Weather Station for this past month:

Once more, I'll make my "plug" to WeatherCatRCP in the hopes that Grand might reconsider and support it.

Since it is another test of the WeatherCat 4.0 beta, here is the same report with the end of the month coming from the Ecowitt station:

Unfortunately, I couldn't locate the Ecowitt station completely out of the trees so I suppose that explains the discrepancies.

Of course the location for the data remains the same:

Sadly drought continues to be a major problem across the western United States as the NOAA spring outlook grimly predicts.

https://www.noaa.gov/news-release/spring-outlook-drought-forecasted-to-expand-in-us-west-parts-of-plains

Northern California was briefly proclaimed to be out of drought back in January.  I'm sure I wasn't the only person who snickered at such dubious assertions.  Skeptics like me would be getting the last laugh if the matter was even remotely funny.

Oh well, . . . . . .

Dear WeatherCat fans of a certain rascally wagon,

As noted elsewhere, my Ecowitt station is currently being beta-tested on a 10 foot galvanized steel pipe.  So how - pray tell - does one bring such a piece of pipe home?  60 years ago, the DIY types did it this way:

Note that you'd better not need a section of pipe much longer that 10 feet!

Of course, even when hauling such awkward cargo, there is no reason why you can't do it in style!

Mission accomplished!!   ThU32:-)

Dear Reinhard, Stu, and WeatherCatters with roadtrip inclinations . . .

. . . .
All this sensors and the Console are very affordable and what I spent for all those sensors is less than the half I spent for my Davis equipment with only two extra sensors.

Very Interesting!!

[wink] . . . . There is just one thing I don't get.  Just how to you install the soil sensors on a travel trailer?  Do you mount them on the outside of the tires?  Must be awful rough trying to get those sensors to perpetrate the asphalt!!!  . . .  lol(1)

Seriously, I haven't bought it yet, but one sensor that is very appealing is a particulate pollution sensor.  During one amateur astronomy camping trip when I was living in San Diego, we had a plume of smoke rise up over our camp ground.  However, it was difficult to judge how far away the smoke was.  Ironically, I don't have the same need for such a sensor at home because so many other people in the area have one!   [biggrin]  However, when you are camping you can't rely on a neighbor!

Stay tuned!!
