Title: WeatherCat Log
Post by: Blicj11 on October 26, 2013, 07:13:36 PM
Sorry to be a wee bit slow, but I can't figure out how to access the WeatherCat log. I am trying to look at some log entries that occurred within the last hour, but can't figure out how to access the log for entries that are older than what the current window is showing.

Hi Blick and WeatherCat fans,

Sorry to be a wee bit slow, but I can't figure out how to access the WeatherCat log. I am trying to look at some log entries that occurred within the last hour, but can't figure out how to access the log for entries that are older than what the current window is showing.

WeatherCat puts all of its log information in the system.log file and the OS-X Unix console.  You can access either using the Console application that you'll find in your Utility folder.  Any application can put log entries in this area so you might have to wade through a lot of stuff.  However, WeatherCat is a bit gabby so it isn't hard to find the WeatherCat entries.  About the only applications that are even more gabby are my AppleScripts!!

Here is a sample:

Edouard:

Is this the part where I regret not selecting the option to "Copy Log Entries to Console Log" in the WeatherCat Preferences?

Dear Blick and WeatherCat hindsight is always 20/20 types, . . . . . (http://www.canebas.org/Weather/LWC_forum/Custom_emoticons/D%27oh.gif)

Is this the part where I regret not selecting the option to "Copy Log Entries to Console Log" in the WeatherCat Preferences?

With a suitable Mel Blanc rendering of Bugs Bunny's voice:

"N'ah, . . . . . Could Be!"

Bummer dude, now you know!
