Not a total novice, but I had been running LWC2 on an old iBook which has recently become unusable. I'm running a copy of Weathercat V2.6.4 and need help in two areas of set-up.
1.When setting up an upload of data to my server with the proper username and password, and directory: "curl (9) Server denied you to change to the given directory"
2.I have an aol email address. I have the proper smtp server info, password and port. I get this message, even if I use a different email address and smtp:
WeatherCat was unable to send a test email to xxxx@aol.com.
Please check the SMTP settings. In addition some servers may REQUIRE that the 'From' field has a valid address in it.
Error: Mail server not found.
The from field is filled in with an email address.
Had no trouble setting this up on LWC2.
What could I be missing?
Thanks,
Tom

Hello Tom, welcome to the forum!
The first issue is a permissions issue on the server - the user you are logging in as doesn't have the permission to access the directory you are trying to access. Check the permissions on the server are correct and you are uploading to the correct directory.
With regards to AOL email, check with http://info.aol.co.uk/help/aol_settings/other_email.html (http://info.aol.co.uk/help/aol_settings/other_email.html). It suggests the following settings:
Outgoing mail (SMTP) server address: smtp.aol.com
Port: 587
Your user name is your AOL screen name
Your password is your AOL password
You may or may not need the 'Authentication' tick-box in WeatherCat ticked and it looks like the 'from' field should be your email address: screenname@aol.com

Thanks very much!
It turned out my ftp address had to be written: ftp://ftp.mydomain.com/www/weather
and I think the port was the sticking point on the email.
Btw, I'm in the US, in Arizona where it is monsoon season right now!
Best,
Tom
