Title: Glasses for a near-sighted Logitech 900 webcam
Post by: Steve on June 05, 2013, 02:24:25 PM
Based on a discussion over on the WXForum, I've added a -2 diopter lens to the front of my Logitech 900 webcam. I didn't realize how out of focus the camera was until trying this! Maybe this can be useful for other Logitech webcam users.

Bottom: after adding -2 diopter corrective lens

I realize the lighting is drastically different, but you can tell that the focus has improved considerably. It also increases the field of view slightly.

Hi Steve and WeatherCat fans,

Based on a discussion over on the WXForum, I've added a -2 diopter lens to the front of my Logitech 900 webcam. I didn't realize how out of focus the camera was until trying this!

Hmm, . . . . .  I never noticed the problem until you mentioned it.  However, I just checked my webcam and sure enough the focus looks equally bad in the same way.

Probably the right thing to do is to upgrade webcams instead.  Oh well, another thing to put on my do-to list.

Cheers, Edouard  [cheers1]
