Title: Wildfire season arrives in North California
Post by: elagache on May 20, 2013, 11:17:13 PM
Dear WeatherCat fans of "Smokey Bear,"

It has been a nasty drought in California and wildfires have already been a real problem in Southern California. There was some "Red Flag" fire weather today and this time our area wasn't spared:

This fire started less than a mile from our house. Fortunately, the latest report is that it is 100% contained and no structures were involved.

Looks like it might be a long, dry and potentially really nasty summer in these here parts . . . . .  [sweat2]

Cheers, Edouard  [cheers1]

Howdy Stu and WeatherCat fans,

Ewww, nasty -  hope that steers well clear of you!

Certainly hope not to see that again.  I never thought I would be close enough to a wildfire that I could take photos of it from my street! (http://www.canebas.org/Weather/LWC_forum/Custom_emoticons/shocked_wide-eyed_smiley.gif)
